Garoua's airport is quite.....quiet. There used to be flights from here
to Paris, but now is only from here to Yaounde.

A Volcano at the End of the World
We must remember that for many the "world" did indeed end today.
Many people died today. That we are alive to witness this winter solstice 2012 guarantees that in a time period that constantly lessens the "world" will end.
Today I find myself in the high altitude town of Buea Cameroun. It host's actually it is hosted by West Africa's tallest peak Mt Cameroun, a 4039m behemoth. The mount is a triangular ridge the fissure can be reached in apx 1 1/2 days.
As with all mountain peaks many paths lead to the top.
In January an annual "Race of Hope" is held.
Were the prophecy correct this peak would be pretty hot right now.

Limbe's Garden
Limbe's main attractions are its botanical garden, the largest in Africa and its wildlife park a haven for the highly endangered Cross River gorilla's, Drill's and Chimpanzees..
There a small hill in the park dominated by a twisted network of roots.
There's an amphitheater crave into the rocks.
Tree majestic time stretching tall.
In more time this may become a waterfall.

From Limbo to Limbe
En route to Douala, Par Avion.
The view from the balacony is charming. Traffic is a notoriously urban, so getting out of Douala was not
easy. At the airport it was a long and advert free stroll to the immigration who stamped me in without hassle.
To get to Limbe from Douala you need to get to the Rond Point, on the north west corner of town. The route takes you past the Wouri river, construction of a bridge is "in progress". From the look of things Limbe most definately more of the tourist town than Douala, arriving at night I await the Sun to serve as my usher to this town with its nearby volcano sand beaches.
